Infrastructure Planning and Environmental Management
- Superintend over the implementation of appropriate infrastructure development policies and programs in the province.
- Recommend appropriate infrastructure policies and programs for the development of centres in the province.
- Superintend over the development of sector policy and strategies for infrastructure development in the consultation and coordination with other relevant Government Ministries, Departments and agencies at provincial level.
- Preside over policy dialogue with other stakeholders and development partners on infrastructure development and planning thematic areas, promote efficient use of resources and encourage participatory approaches to development planning financing, and sustainability in the province.
- Superintend over the implementation of policies and strategies related to pollution, waste management and environmental hazards.
- Coordinate community design policies, plans, designs guidelines and written reports related to road improvements, landscape improvements, commercial development and integrated community design in the province.
- Manage the conduct of research programs designed to increase efficiency and effectiveness of infrastructure, access to urban infrastructure and
- Public transport services for areas in the province in terms of demand, supply and efficiency and recommend appropriate remedial measures.
- Superintend over the conduct of socio economic research and analysis on management of pollution waste, environmental hazards and environmental protection.
- Oversee the establishment of sustainably built environments while striking a balance between societal needs and the reduction of social, economic and environmental risks and hazards in future.
- Monitor and regulate the Local Authorities’ compliance with guidelines set forth by the Environmental Management Agency (EMA)
