The Department of Immigration administers the Immigration Act chapter 4:02 on behalf of the Minister with a mandate to:
Facilitate entry and exit of travellers
- Issuing permits which accord status to immigrants
- Contributing to the identification and status determination of refugees
- Identifying and removing illegal immigrants, and
- Enhancing economic development through the facilitation of investment and admission of persons with critical skills.
The Client Service Charter was developed in a bid to respond to the needs of the clients and to provide efficient service with the stipulated timelines and guidelines.
