powerhouse in Zimbabwe, rich in gold, platinum, chrome, and lithium, with both large-scale and artisanal operations driving economic growth and investment.<\/strong><\/p><hr \/><h5>\u26cf\ufe0f Key Minerals and Mining Districts<\/h5><ul><li><strong>Gold<\/strong>:<ul><li><em>Kadoma<\/em> is a historic gold mining hub, home to <strong>RioZim\u2019s Cam and Motor Mine<\/strong>, one of the country\u2019s largest gold producers.<\/li><li>Numerous <strong>small-scale miners<\/strong> operate in the area, contributing significantly to local employment and gold output.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Platinum Group Metals (PGMs)<\/strong>:<ul><li>The <strong>Zimplats operations in Ngezi<\/strong> are among Zimbabwe\u2019s largest platinum producers.<\/li><li>In July 2025, the province celebrated the commissioning of an <strong>expanded smelter and an 85MW solar plant<\/strong> at the Selous Metallurgical Complex, enhancing beneficiation and energy resilience.<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Chrome and Nickel<\/strong>:<ul><li>Found in the <strong>Chegutu and Zvimba districts<\/strong>, with potential for ferrochrome production and stainless steel <strong>NDS1<\/strong> by promoting:<ul><li><strong>Local beneficiation<\/strong> of minerals (e.g., smelting, refining)<\/li><li><strong>Solar-powered mining infrastructure<\/strong>, as seen in Zimplats\u2019 energy investments<\/li><li><strong>Mining value chains<\/strong> linked to manufacturing and exports<\/li><\/ul><\/li><li><strong>Kadoma<\/strong> is earmarked for <strong>mining value chain development<\/strong>, including gold processing, jewelry manufacturing, and mining equipment supply.<\/li><\/ul><hr \/><h5>\ud83d\udcbc Investment and Regulation<\/h5><ul><li>The <strong>Provincial Investment Promotion Conference<\/strong> in 2023 emphasized mining as a pillar of GDP growth, alongside agriculture and tourism.<\/li><li>Investors are encouraged to partner with <strong>ZIDA<\/strong> and the <strong>Ministry of Mines and Mining Development<\/strong> for licensing and incentives.<\/li><li><strong>Environmental compliance<\/strong> is monitored by EMA, especially in areas with artisanal mining to mitigate land degradation and water pollution.<\/li><\/ul><hr \/><h5>\ud83d\udd0d Strategic Outlook<\/h5><p>Mashonaland West\u2019s mining sector is poised for:<\/p><ul><li><strong>Increased exports<\/strong> of PGMs and gold<\/li><li><strong>Expansion of solar-powered operations<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Formalization of artisanal miners<\/strong><\/li><li><strong>Development of mining-linked SMEs<\/strong><\/li><li><a
